FSJ Chamber news and updates

As the year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support over the past year. Looking ahead to the new year, we’re excited about the opportunities to continue collaborating, networking, and growing together. Whether it’s through meaningful connections, innovative initiatives, or simply supporting one another, we know the best is yet to come.

We start this year welcoming an enthusiastic new board of directors who's aim for this year is to engage with ours businesses, groups and elected officials that impact our economy to set goals and open communication on how we can support our communities future.

A key aspect in how our chamber operates comes down to how engaged we are with our community. For every 50 chamber memberships, regardless of size or type, we get one vote at Provincial and Canadian Chambers on policy resolutions we want backing and large scale support on. The feedback from members helps us determine what are priorities for our community, Northeast and Northern British Columbia to help in the way we vote and what policy resolutions we create i.e. the Taylor Bridge replacement. With the policies passed at the BC Chamber and Canadian Chamber level, we have wide network support and can work with other organizations or elected officials to try and make the changes that our community needs.

We participate in the Northeast Roundtable which is meant to support discussions related to provincial and regional land and assist in identifying community and stakeholder interests. Please let us know if you have comments and concerns that you would like us to bring to the next meeting involving land use, land transfers, wildlife, etc.

Here is some information from the December meeting:

FSJ Chamber Champions

Chamber Champions are often the backbone of the Chamber. Their valued support throughout the year sets them apart as a Chamber supporter within the community.

Champions are showcased on much of the Chamber’s marketing and often appear at our programs and events. Often our Chamber Champions are first in line when it comes to launching new projects that will have an impact in the community. It is their trust in the work we do that helps us continue to do the work we do for our membership and community.

We are grateful for the support of our chamber Champions!
